I was listening to Z100 the other morning and the members of the show got on the topic of Lena Dunham and Girls. While most of their comments were positive and supportive of her and her show, I know that not everyone sees her that way.
When the first season came out, I remember talking to a group of my girlfriends about how excited I was to watch it. The response I got was not nice at all. Several of them responded back with, "Why? She's fat and disgusting. How can you watch it?"
While I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion, why can't people see beyond the physical and see the other great qualities she has? For example, everyone in the media has been commenting on the whole Rihanna/Chris Brown relationship. But does anyone actually say anything about it? No. Well, Lena did. She called Rihanna out for being a bad role model for her fans. And she's absolutely right, but that's an entirely different matter.
The fact is, Lena is the woman that I wish I was - unapologetic, fearless, and proud. I mean, could I be photographed with my bra hanging out for the world to see on the cover of a national magazine? Hellllll no. So I say to Hell with the critics, Lena - you keep doing you.
Here's to the B.A. Chick of the Week!

she is the most adorable human, ever! and your right, she is everything i wish i was :)
